I’m delighted that you’re interested in learning more about joining Lakeland Arts as a trustee and Board member.
Lakeland Arts is an arts and heritage charity based in Cumbria. Our museums sit within and are surrounded by the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our beautiful spaces, rich collections, engaging programmes and passionate people are all connected by a powerful sense of place.
We are currently at the beginning of an ambitious and innovative programme of transformational change which will ensure long term sustainability and increased access to our collections for all our audiences. Our vision is to use artistic creativity, our rich heritage and breathtaking landscape to transform lives and enrich communities.
We are a partner in the Cumbria Museums Consortium which includes Tullie and the Wordsworth Trust and is an Arts Council England funded National Portfolio Organisation. Lakeland Arts’ annual operating income is c. £3m, which includes grants, donations and commercial income.
We are looking to appoint two trustees who have the skills and knowledge we need to help Lakeland Arts deliver that transformation and to support strategic and inspirational leadership through a diverse range of outlooks and experiences.
